Perhaps one of Carlos' more "cinematic" albums, in places "After the Storm Comes the Calm" has the feel of an old Hollywood blockbuster movie, decades before they were done with CGI type effects. Kind of an Space-Fusion Ben Hur in it's way.
Here we find some of the usual cast of characters you may find on a Vivanco album, the compound time signatures, far east sounding scales, and that urgent sense of abandon that seems to permeate all his recordings.

Just finished our first full listen to Far East. That was a trip. I started washing dishes. I ended on the couch suddenly stunned by the silence. I don't remember track changes, or much after track 2. I was just gone. It's that good. Carlos just took over my whole world for a moment in time, and it was wonderful. Honor in Treason
